Why the trip I have submitted is not in the listings?
If you have just signed up for a new account by submitting your trip, the listing gets the "Pending" status. We will review your submission as soon as possible and make it visible on the trip listings. We have to review all new trip submissions in order to assure that Internet spammers do not submit information, which is not relevant to AllBigTrips.com.
Do you have any recommendations for creating a website for my trip?
If you are travelling more than 1 month, it is always nice to have an own Internet website, where one may share travel stories, pictures and make visitors of the website to travel together. Today's possibilities allow to set up a running webpage in one afternoon. For the trip website you would need the following:
  • Get a domain name
Probably the cheapest place to get one is www.GoDaddy.com ($8.95/year)
  • Choose a web hosting provider
We recommend ICDSoft.com, which has one of the top ratings among all the hosting companies on the Internet. For as little as $6/month you will get 750MB of web-space, unlimited email accounts and everything else you need for starting your page. We like them, because of their effective customer support, which solves the problems within 15 minutes 24 h a day. Moreover, if you buy a hosting package with ICDSoft, a new domain name would cost only $5.

In addition you might consider services by other reliable companies: Hostgator ($6.95/month), Lunarpages.com ($6.95/month) or RealWebHost ($6.95/month). Another company, Doteasy, will provide you a 100 MB free web hosting service if you buy with them a domain name for $25/year.
  • Choose a free open-source CMS.
CMS stands for Content Management System. In other words, it is a free webpage template that makes it possible to create a powerful website, where the administration of the content does not require advanced knowledge of HTML or how to build webpages.
TETSI - is one of such open-source webpage templates created specially for travellers to share their travel stories and pictures.
Another great place for having an overview of available open-source website templates check OpenSourceCMS.org.
Are there any requirements for the trips to be listed?
  • The trip should be at least 4 weeks long.
  • The description of the trip should be in English.
  • The website should represent the trip - e.g., a separate trip dedicated website, a travelogue or a blog (a single story page or a gallery of pictures will not be accepted as a website of the trip).
  • If submitting a past trip - the website is required.
Maps of which countries and regions are available for creating route maps?
Currently we have a collection of more than 600 maps available for drawing routes. The full list of all the map images you will find here.
